DIY Small Purse Organizer

On ThePurseForum.com there is a lot talk about losing small items in your purse. I all it the "Claw Toy Machine Effect." You end up arm pit deep inside your purse searching for your phone, or keys. I've found a simple DIY solution for a small purse organizer online here. It's easy enough to do in about an hour or so with a few scraps of fabric and some interfacing to make the fabric a little more stiff. Luckily for me I have plenty of both lying around from designing at Davis. 

You need two complementary fabrics. Here are some random ones I had lying around.

Cut into 8 x 26 inch pieces for each fabric.

Here's some cheap interfacing found at Walmart.

Cut two pieces 8 x 26 

Place dot side down onto wrong side of fabric and iron to fuse the interfacing to the fabric. 

Place fabric pieces right sides together with interfacing out and sew 1/2 inch seam allowance all around leaving a 2 inch gap at one end.

Completed sewn around. Clip the corners of the fabric.

Through the 2 inch hole, flip the entire thing inside out.

Iron flat.

Sew an edge stitch around the entire rectangle.

Choose which side you like more and fold up the bottom edge 3 inches and pin in place. Stitch the sides closed.

Lay out each of your items.

Put them inside and pin where you want to stitch.

Take the items out and stitch each section. Don't forget to backstitch!

Ta-dah!!! You are finished!

Place inside your favorite bag! You can adjust and make the organizer a little taller or longer to your liking. This also makes it easier to change between bags without losing your stuff! I hope you enjoy!
